Why does Foundation have to support so many activities for the district? Budget. Looking around at other public schools throughout the Bay Area, you can see we’re all struggling with shrinking budgets. Every year, we have the challenge of funding our kids special programs—ones that aren’t funded by the state or federal government.
We need to raise at least $1,542 per student annually to support our kids’ current enrichment programs at Lakeside this year. This critical donation helps keep our current services and programs that our kids love. We achieve our per-student goal through three major fundraisers: Walk-a-thon, the Lakeside Auction, and your critical donations. With these donations, Lakeside Foundation is able to reach our annual budget goals.
Programs your donations help Lakeside Foundation fund include: physical education ($324/child), music ($324/child), science($162/child), dance($45/child), counseling($129/child), technology($234/child), and Art in Action ($15/child) and various other programs and support to the district.
